The idea is to invest into four different areas that are bounded into a system of vertical integration. The goal is the establishment and marketing of low-cost houses in Angola which are based on innovate “3D- construction elements”-technique.
The first investigation is needed to build a factory in order to produce the 3D-construction elements. This is the centrepiece and the driving motor of the project. The factory is bounded with two on the vertical structure higher positioned companies. One of them decomposes rocks and produces grits out of it, the other one produces concrete. A construction company is settled lower within the structure which is responsible for the establishments of the houses. So it’s about an investigation with a strong vertical component which encloses the first steps of the house building. Therefore the project has a big autonomy which is an important fact if something is supposed to be produced with low costs.
Also the fact that the main raw material polystyrol is taken for the production of the 3D-construction elements is interesting. Polystyrol is an outcome of a synthetic material out of oil delays which is delivered in granules and then combined with hard material. Since it is an oil derivate it can also be bought in Angola. Therefore the source of supply of raw material from foreign factors is independent. This is also valid for other raw materials such as steel wire, sand, cement and grits.
The raw material is purchased on the Angolan market (at a refinery) and transformed by a chemical process. This is a closed process and runs mechanically over by a system called development and exploitation company. The system is multistage and the raw material is treated within so that at the end the outcome is polystyrol. The raw material is within a closed process and the transformation follows by the named equipment. End product is polystyrol in panels in pre-determined size.
After producing the polystyrol panels they have to run a second treating process in which the steel wire surrounds the panels. Now they can be brought to the construction site and be used by putting up the out- and inside walls. The put up is enabled by a plug system. After fitting them into the house the panels will be demolished and painted.
